Carlo Chiusi was born in Faenza on November 4, 1997. After attending an economic-social high school, he earned a bachelor's degree in Cultural Heritage - History of Art in 2020 at the University of Trento. His thesis, titled "Art and Fashion between Gothic and Renaissance: The Iconic Headscarf. Artistic Implications and Influences in 20th Century Theatre and Cinema" explored the intersection of art, fashion, and performance.
He continued his academic journey with a master’s degree in Visual Arts and Fashion at the IUAV University of Venice, graduating in March 2023 with honors (110 cum laude). His master’s thesis, titled "Society Risk Protection: From Risk Society to Protests against the System; The Reaction of Fashion Designers and Visual Artists," examined the societal responses of fashion and visual arts to systemic risks and challenges.
In August 2019, Carlo attended the short course "Cool Hunting and Trend Research" at Central Saint Martins. That same year, he began collaborating with emerging streetwear brands as an art director and launched Manette, his own independent streetwear brand.
He also works with visual artists to produce promotional campaigns and curate creative projects. During his university years, Carlo actively engaged in organizing art and music events, contributing to initiatives by Art Future Connection (AFC)—where he serves as CEO—APE, a university cultural association, and Cellar Contemporary, an art gallery in Trento.
From October 2024 Carlo is pursuing a PhD in Design at IUAV University of Venice.
